Elizabeth Pattyn is a multidisciplinary designer and artist based in New York City, who embraces any opportunity to convey captivating stories through the use of bold color, pattern, and composition in her work.
A lifelong proponent of art and design, Elizabeth always dreamt of pursuing a career in the arts. She initially developed her creative ambition as a student at the esteemed Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, taking courses in drawing, painting, photography, and fiber arts. Thereafter, Elizabeth moved to Boston to attend the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, where she graduated in 2017 with a BFA in graphic design.
During her free time as an undergraduate student, Elizabeth worked as a designer and painter with the Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert & Sullivan Players, and unexpectedly discovered her love for theatrical design. Having decided to further pursue this passion, she attended Boston University’s School of Theatre and received a MFA in scenic design in 2020.
Currently, Elizabeth works as an aptly-named “dreamweaver” at the three Michelin starred restaurant Eleven Madison Park in New York City. Here, she simultaneously expands upon the restaurant’s visual identity as an in-house graphic designer, while also creating custom artwork and events on-site to incorporate into guests’ dining experiences.
Aside from her artistic endeavors, Elizabeth is also an avid admirer and collector of mid-twentieth century art and design. Dealing in everything from ephemera to furniture, she has been buying and selling vintage items for over 15 years, and sees no end in sight!
